Gen Henderson joined the MSU Denver coaching staff in July, 2019, after completing her career at the College of Charleston, where she was a two-year starter at goalkeeper. She had been recruited to Charleston when Roadrunners coach Tracy Chao was on the coaching staff at that Division I institution.
In her first season with MSU Denver, Henderson helped coach Erica Torres -- who was twice named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Week -- and Emily Kim, whose dramatic save during penalty kicks clinched an RMAC Tournament first-round victory over Dixie State.
Henderson started all 38 games in her final two seasons at College of Charleston, compiling a record of 17-15-1 with nine shutouts, a 1.26 goals-against average and a .773 save percentage. The Cougars reached the semifinals of the Colonial Athletic Association tournament in 2018.
