Well-deserved RMAC Defensive Player of the Week winner on Oct. 18 after shutting down Colorado Mesa’s Lila Dere -- Division II’s leading scorer -- in a 1-0 victory. Dere -- who had at least two shots on goal (and at least three shot attempts) in every previous game this season -- was unable to even take one shot, let alone put any on goal. Dere, the 2021 RMAC Player of the Year who had 17 goals this season, was prevented from having a shot on goal for just the third time in 43 career games and was unable to shoot for the first time in her career. Dere had been averaging 6.2 shots and 3.4 shots on goal per game this season. Sirois didn’t commit a foul while playing all 90 minutes. ... Second on the team with 1,162 minutes played despite missing one game. Played all 90 minutes in seven of the first nine games in which she appeared. ... Defender played all 180 minutes as MSU Denver stretched its shutout streak to three games with a 1-0 win over Central Washington and a 1-0 win at Eastern New Mexico on Sept. 11. ... Made her MSU Denver debut the weekend of Aug. 26-28 and played all 90 minutes both in the 1-0 loss against host Simon Fraser (B.C.) in the season opener and against Saint Martin’s (Wash.) on Aug. 28, a 1-0 win.
