2012: Named NSCAA first team all-South Central Region, Daktronics second team all-region, and first team all-RMAC ... started 21 games at central defender ... scored a goal and had three assists for five points ... attempted 12 shots, including four on goal ... had a +26 plus/minus and a 0.89 individual goals against average for the season ... helped MSU to the best defense in the RMAC with a 0.69 GAA and eight shutouts in conference games ... had an assist against Colorado State-Pueblo twice (Sept. 23 and Oct. 5) ... RMAC defensive player of the week on Oct. 9 after leading MSU to its fourth consecutive shutout victory ... scored a career-high three points with the game-winning goal and an assist in a 4-1 win over West Texas A&M on Nov. 9 in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

2011: Named third team all-RMAC ... started 15 of 16 games in defense ... scored in Metro State's 5-1 victory vs. Adams State on Sept. 16 ... attempted five shots with two shots on goal ... helped Metro State achieve a 1.36 goals against average ... had a +4 plus/minus rating (26 goals forced, 22 goals against) logging 1,375 minutes during the season.

Before Metro State: Played two seasons at the University of Colorado ... made six starts and played in 18 games as a sophomore in 2009 ... attempted three shots as a sophomore ... appeared in four games as a freshman in 2008 and assisted on one goal.

High School: 2008 graduate of Ponderosa High School ... four-year letterwinner ... coached by Jim Engles ... two-year team captain ... named second team all-league as a junior and honorable mention as a sophomore.

Club Team: Played for the Colorado Rush Nike club team ... led the Rush Nike to the state championship in 2007 and the regional and national championships in 2008 and 2009 ... member of the Colorado Olympic Development Program from 2005-07 and the regional ODP in 2006 and 2007.

Summer 2012: Played for the Colorado Rapids Women's team ... played in 13 of the team's 14 games, seeing action in 763 minutes ... attempted three shots.

Personal: Born July 21, 1990 ... daughter of Russ and Tina Newlin ... has a brother, Shawn Brown, and sisters Brenna Newlin and Lesta Sperte ... majoring in speech languages and hearing sciences with a minor in Spanish.
