Kristin Barnett is entering her seventh year with the Roadrunners as an assistant athletic trainer in 2021-22. She is the main contact for women's soccer, softball, cross country and track & field. She has served as the liaison between the athletic training department and the university's health and wellness program.
She brought six years of collegiate athletic training experience to MSU Denver from Division I Eastern Washington. She spent two years as the athletic trainer for the Eagles' volleyball team while completing her master's degree. In addition to volleyball, Barnett started working with the golf and cheerleading teams. In 2013, she took over men's basketball as the main contact.
Barnett earned her bachelor's degree in athletic training from Kansas in 2009, where she served as a student athletic trainer for softball, women's basketball and football. She completed her master's degree in 2011 from Eastern Washington in exercise science.
A native of Evergreen, Colo., she enjoys running marathons and has a goal of completing one in all 50 states. She also enjoys mountain biking, hiking and playing with her dog, Ace.
