Linda Lappe

Linda Lappe is entering her third season at Metro State in 2009-10.  In her first two seasons, she has guided the Roadrunners to two RMAC Tournament appearances, two top-three finishes in the East Division and a pair of winning records in conference play.

Despite a young team with one senior on its roster and losing two starters season-ending injuries during the preseason, Lappe helped Metro State finish the 2008-09 season with a 14-14 record, including 12-7 in conference games.  The Roadrunners finished third in the seven-team East Division and fell to the eventual RMAC Tournament champion and fourth seed Colorado State-Pueblo in the last seconds of the first round of the tournament.

During Lappe's first season in 2007-08, the Roadrunners posted a 19-10 overall record, finished second in the RMAC's East Division and qualified for the conference tournament. Metro State put together a season-high nine-game winning streak during the season and ranked third in the RMAC in scoring defense.

Lappe arrived in Denver after spending the 2006-07 season at Mountain West Conference member Colorado State University as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator under head coach Jen Warden. Lappe helped secure 11 recruits to Fort Collins, including two Western Region Top 25 recruits and a junior college Academic All-American.

Prior to her time at Colorado State, Lappe spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Drake University and helped the Bulldogs to WNIT berths in 2004 and 2006. Drake posted a record of 47-42 during her tenure and the team earned a grade point average over 3.0 in each of her semesters at the school. The 2005-06 recruiting class was ranked in the top 50 and went on to win the Missouri Valley Conference championship in 2007.

Lappe played four years of basketball at Big 12 Conference member Colorado, where she graduated in December 2002 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. A two-time honorable mention All-Big 12 Conference performer, Lappe led Colorado to three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances from 2001-03, including an Elite Eight finish in 2002 and a Sweet 16 showing in 2003. A two-year captain for the Buffaloes, Lappe was a three-time Academic All-Big 12 selection and averaged 8.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists as a 2003 senior.

In her spare time, Lappe enjoys spending time outdoors. She resides in Lakewood.
