Bobby Blanken begins his third season as an assistant coach with the Roadrunners in 2016. During his second season as an assistant, he helped MSU Denver to a 20-12 record, including 14-4 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The Roadrunners also made their 16th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance in 2015.

He was named the 2012 AVCA West Region coach of the year and 2012 Golden State Athletic Conference coach of the year. In his four years, Blanken totaled a record of 87-56 (.608), turning around a program that had won just one-third of its games prior to his arrival. In 2013, The Master’s College was ranked as high as No. 6 in NAIA.

He also spent three years as the head boys and girls volleyball coach at Village Christian High School, earning CIFSS coach of the year and leading the team to the California state quarterfinals. At the club level, Blanken has been the Elite Level Club coach at Legacy Volleyball Club from 2009 to 2014.

Blanken graduated from Missouri Western State University in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in physical education and a minor in secondary education. He completed his master's degree in 2014 from Fresno Pacific University in kinesiology with an emphasis in coaching.
