Kayla Koenecke

    Graduate Assistant Coach
Kayla Koenecke is entering her second season as a graduate assistant coach in 2015. During her first season in 2014, she helped MSU Denver to a 23-7 record, including 15-3 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, good for second in the conference. The Roadrunners also made the NCAA Tournament and had a stretch during the regular season of 16 wins in 17 matches. On the court, the team was led by All-America right-side hitter Lauren Quijano.

Koenecke joined the Roadrunners as a graduate assistant coach in 2014 after finishing her four-year career at Concordia University, St. Paul. The four-time All-America right-side hitter won four NCAA Division II national championships with the Golden Bears and led the nation in hitting percentage as a senior after hitting .410 and averaging 3.63 kills and 3.52 digs.

She also has four years of coaching experience at the club level in Minnesota, working with M1, High Voltage and Southwest Christian.

A native of Delano, Minn., Koenecke graduated from Concordia-St. Paul in 2014 with her bachelor's degree in marketing. She is currently working on her master's degree at MSU Denver in professional accountancy.
