Trey Salinas begins his first year as an assistant coach at Metro State in 2011. He brings over four years of coaching experience at the high school and club levels, coaching both boys and girls. Salinas began his coaching career as the boys and girls varsity coach at Bishop Machebeuf High School and coach there from 2007-10, winning a pair of conference championships and a state title in 2010. He also served as the boys varsity coach at Colorado Academy in 2009, starting the program and going 20-6 in his first and only season, reaching the state quarterfinals and having three all-state players.
As a club coach, Salinas served as a coach for the Juggernaut 18's club, helping his team win three tournament championships and finish second in the green bracket at the AAU National Championships in Orlando. He also served as an assistant coach in 2010 with the USA Volleyball Select A2 Youth national team. Salinas currently serves on the Colorado Boys High School Volleyball Association where he has worked since August 2009.
He earned his bachelor's degree in management from Johnson & Wales University in Denver in 2010. A native of El Paso, Texas, Salinas graduated from Coronado High School. He currently resides in Denver.
