In track, Luna qualified for both the indoor and outdoor championships, finishing third in the national indoor meet and second at the outdoor meet, earning two all-America honors.
The 2006 men's cross country team finished sixth at the always challenging NCAA North Central Regional Championship, just one spot shy of qualifying for the national meet in its second season. On the track, Julian coached Todd Tolentino to an eighth-place finish and all-America honors in the 5000 meters in just the first season for the program.
