    Volunteer Assistant Coach
Chris Rego joined the MSU Denver staff as a volunteer assistant coach in September, 2021, and is beginning his second season with the program in 2022-23.

He works with the Roadrunners' distance athletes.

Before joining MSU Denver, Rego had been part of the UCCS staff since 2019 after competing at the NCAA Division I and Division II levels.

Rego competed for the Florida State cross country and track teams from 2009 through 2011, and he then competed at Tampa (Fla.) while pursuing his master's degree in education. With the Spartans he earned all-region honors and helped lead the team to their first conference title and to the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
 
Rego began his coaching career by founding the School of Arts and Sciences first cross country/track program in Tallahassee, Fla.
 
His wife, Amanda, is MSU Denver's associate head coach for men's and women's cross country and track & field.
