Dr. Shawn Worthy is in his 10th year serving as the faculty athletic representative for Metropolitan State University of Denver.
Worthy is a professor of human services at MSU Denver. He obtained his doctorate in clinical psychology from Northern Illinois. Worthy has served as the Chair of the Human Services Department, as well as the Interim Vice President of the Student Services Division at MSU Denver.
In addition to his clinical and administrative work, Dr. Worthy has also maintained a specialty in sports psychology while conducting research and applying his findings by working with the private sector.
As the faculty athletic representative, Worthy’s role includes staying active in governance and strategic planning, establishing academic standards within the MSU Denver athletic department and, most importantly, being an advocate for student-athletes.
