Eric Lansing is in his 14th full year as the media producer at Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2022-23. He joined the Roadrunners as a full-time staff member in October 2009.
Lansing is responsible for live streaming MSU Denver sports and producing all video for MSU Denver’s social media sites YouTube page. He has been the producer for various MSU Denver talk shows, including the Roadrunners Rally, the Coaches Corner and the Roadrunner Review. The Roadrunner Review was a 30-minute magazine show that aired on Altitude TV and Comcast CET.
He has produced video that frequently appears on Denver television networks, including a record 94 times during the 2012-13 academic year.
Lansing added the task of producing intro videos for the men's and women's basketball teams and volleyball teams.
When MSU Denver hosted three Division II softball national championship tournaments between 2019 and 2022, as well as the 2019 Division II national volleyball championship tournament, Lansing provided to video footage for the competing schools while moderating the press conferences.
With a crew of MSU Denver students volunteering or earning work study, Roadrunners TV puts on a professional-style broadcast that features play-by-play, color commentators and sideline reporters, at least two camera angles and informative graphics. Lansing is also responsible for uploading videos onto the website.
Lansing is an MSU Denver alum, graduating in 2009. He earned his bachelor’s degree in news editorial journalism with a minor in speech communication. During his time at MSU Denver as a student, Lansing worked in the school’s communication office in many different roles that included sports editor for the school’s newspaper, sports director for the student-run newscast and he spent a year as the voice of MSU Denver sports on the school’s student-run radio station.
He was named MSU Denver's Alumni Campus Employee of the Year in 2022.Â
He has also earned several awards in his time at the communication office. Lansing was the sports director of the student-run newscast in 2007 when The Met Report won a regional Emmy for Outstanding Student Excellence. Lansing also placed three times for three different stories at the Society of Professional Journalism Region IX Awards.
Lansing spent a year as an intern for the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in 2008-2009. During his time there, he helped produce the RMAC Showcase, a 60-minute program that featured stories and highlights from the 14 sports programs in the conference. Lansing anchored, wrote scripts, created packages, created graphics, shot footage and helped put together the 2009 RMAC Hall of Fame ceremony.
Born in Northglenn, Colo., he graduated from George Washington High School in 1998. Lansing currently lives in Englewood, Colo.
