MSU Denver Athletics

Joe Tillman joined MSU Denver Athletics as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach in the fall of 2025, bringing experience across Division I, Division II, and the private performance sector. 

Tillman most recently served as an Assistant Athletic Performance Coach for baseball and softball at the University of Texas, contributing to a 2025 SEC Baseball Regular Season Championship and the program’s Women’s College World Series national title. Prior to Texas, he spent three seasons as a Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant at Regis University, where he programmed and led training for baseball, softball, and cross country while supporting multiple conference champions, NCAA regional qualifiers, and professional draft picks.

A former collegiate football student-athlete at Old Dominion University, Tillman holds a master’s degree in psychology with an emphasis in applied sport performance from Regis University. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), USA Weightlifting Level 1 coach, and has experience integrating sports science and performance technology into athlete development.
