The No. 11 University Nebraska-Kearney volleyball team snapped Metro State's six-match win streak with a 25-13, 25-16, 26-24 victory, Saturday night in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) play in Kearney, Neb. The loss dropped the 'Runners to 14-8 overall and 12-3 in the RMAC.

Metro continued to start strong, trading points early with the Lopers until sophomore outside hitter Chelsie Carson served 10 straight points to give UNK the 21-9 lead. The second set was much of the same, as UNK continued to stay in system and MSCD could not get its offense going.

Game three looked like it would be more of the same as the Lopers raced out to a 9-1 lead. But this time Metro State battled back, tying the score at 18-18. The teams traded points until 24-24, when two consecutive Metro State errors gave the match to UNK.

For the match, UNK outhit MSCD .239-.052 and had more kills 38-30.

Metro State hosts UC-Colorado Springs Friday and Colorado Christian Saturday in its final home matches of the season. Both games are scheduled for 7 p.m.
