Volleyball Falls to SW Minnesota in NCAA First Round

The Metro State volleyball team dropped an 18-25, 25-20, 17-25, 18-25 match to Southwest Minnesota State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, Thursday afternoon in St. Paul, Minn.

The 'Runners struggled in serve receive, giving up a season high 10 service aces, but countered with six aces of their own. Metro did manage to out block and out dig the Mustangs.

Bri Morley and Emily Greenhalgh led the offense with 13 kills apiece. Amy Watanabe had a solid defensive effort with 24 digs.

The 'Runners finish the season at 18-10. They finished second with a 16-3 record in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) and earned their ninth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.
