The No. 25 Metro State men's soccer team (3-1) defeated Seattle Pacific, 4-1, Friday afternoon at Auraria Field.
The 'Runners opened the scoring in the eigth minute of the game when Tyler Hambrick punched in a cross pass from Ola Sandquist. SPU fired back just five minutes later when Andy Wolverton put a corner kick in the net to tie the score at 1-1. Steven Emory put the 'Runners up 2-1 on a penalty kick. Kellen Johnson recorded an assist to Sandquist to put MSCD up 3-1 and then followed with a goal of his own to end the game.
Ryan Vickery was again solid in goal for MSCD with seven saves.
The 'Runners open Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) play Sunday at the Colorado School of Mines. The game is scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m.
