Roadrunners Fall on Road in Washington

SEATTLE, Wash. -
The No. 20 Metro State men's soccer team fell 4-1 to Seattle Pacific on Saturday in Seattle, Wash.  SPU improved to 5-0-2 this season with the win, while the Roadrunners dropped to 3-2-0.

Ri Armstrong (Aurora, Colo./Rangeview H.S.) scored Metro State's only goal in the game in the 81st minute on a shot from 20 yards out, assisted by Pat Laughlin (Scottsdale, Ariz./Brophy College Prep).

Dominique Griffith (Aurora, Colo./Smoky Hill H.S.) suffered the loss in the goal, making two saves.

Metro State was outshot just 16-13, including 6-5 on goal, but the difference was SPU goalkeepers stopped four of the five shots on goal.

The Falcons struck twice in the first 20 minutes and took that lead into halftime.  They added two more in the first 13 minutes of the second half, the first coming on a deep shot from 30 yards out, and the second coming on a breakaway.

Metro State will open Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play on Friday on the road at UC-Colorado Springs at 7:30 p.m.
