The win moved the Roadrunners to 21-6 overall and 14-5 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while UCCS dropped to 10-16 overall and 8-10 in the RMAC.  Colorado Mines lost at Nebraska-Kearney on Friday, dropping the Orediggers a half-game behind Metro State.

The Roadrunners battled through a sloppy first half where they shot just 40.0 percent from the floor and allowed the Mountain Lions to hit a 48.1 percent clip.  Despite the struggles, Metro State held a 41-37 lead at the break behind freshman Jonathan Morse (Boulder, Colo./Fairview H.S.)'s 11 points and nine rebounds.

Metro State came out on a tear in the second half, though, opening on a 12-2 run on senior Brian Minor (Clovis, Calif./Clovis H.S.)'s fastbreak two-handed dunk to take a 53-39 lead with 15 minutes left in the game.  The Roadrunners continued to pour on the intensity, leading 62-40 with under 13 minutes left.

Metro State stretched its lead to 27 points with under seven minutes to play on a 3-pointer by #A.J. Flournoy# for its biggest lead of the game.

Minor closed out his regular season career with a game-high 21 points, hitting 6-of-12 from the floor and 7-of-8 at the line.  He also added six rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Donte Nicholas (Washington, D.C./Oakton H.S.) and Reggie Evans (Aurora, Colo./Rangeview H.S.) each scored 18 points.  Nicholas was flawless at the free throw line, connecting on all six of his attempts.  Evans shot 6-of-11 from the floor and had three steals.

Morse recorded his third double-double of the year with 13 points and 11 rebounds, including eight offensive boards.

Metro State outshot UCCS 53.6 percent to 40.9 percent in the second half, helping the Roadrunners shoot 46.6 percent for the game.  They also made 7-of-14 3-point shots, tying a season-high for 3-pointers made.  As always, the aggressive offense helped the Roadrunners get to the free throw line 33 times, where they made 26.  They also forced 18 turnovers and committed just nine of their own.
