Brooks' goal not enough as men's soccer falls at SPU

SEATTLE -
Metro State fell 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at Seattle Pacific after allowing two goals in the first 14 minutes.  The loss dropped the Roadrunners to 2-1-1, while the Falcons improved to 1-1-1.

Ryan Brand scored at 9:30 for SPU and Tyler Schultz followed with a goal at 13:50 for the quick 2-0 lead.

Metro State fought back with a goal by Jeremy Brooks (Phoenix/Horizon H.S.) off a rebound from Scott Crawford (Arvada, Colo./Pomona H.S.)'s shot at 43:13 to go into halftime down 2-1.

The Roadrunners had a chance to tie with a penalty kick in the 60th minute, but Chris Yoder (Gilbert, Ariz./Mesquite H.S.) missed.

Metro State was outshot 20-16 in the game and goalkeeper Issa Bissau (Denver, Colo./Chatfield H.S.) made seven saves.

Metro State will travel to UC-Colorado Springs for a 7 p.m. game on Friday.
