ALAMOSA, Colo. -
No. 17 Metro State cruised to a 3-0 road win at Adams State on Friday afternoon in Alamosa, Colo.  It was Metro State's fifth straight win, its longest winning streak since 2007.

The Roadrunners improved to 7-2-1 overall and 5-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference on Friday, while ASC fell to 2-5-1 and 1-4.

Scott Grode (Gilbert, Ariz./Basha H.S.) scored the first goal of the game for the fifth time this season, finding the net at 29:03, taking a cross from Chris Yoder (Gilbert, Ariz./Mesquite H.S.) in the box.  It was Grode's ninth goal this season.

The score moved to 2-0 just six minutes later when Dele Johnson (Arvada, Colo./Pomona H.S.) headed Scott Crawford (Arvada, Colo./Pomona H.S.)'s corner in for his first goal of the year.

Backup goalkeeper Shailer Thomas (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington H.S.) saw action in the field late in the game and scored a goal at 87:55 after taking a pass from Kevin Pocalyko (Longmont, Colo./Longmont H.S.) and beating the goalkeeper.  It was the first goal for a Metro State 'keeper since 2008 when current starting goalkeeper Issa Bissau (Denver, Colo./Chatfield H.S.) scored against Colorado Christian.

On Friday, Bissau made seven saves for his fourth shutout in the past five games.
