GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Metro State played to a 0-0 tie at Colorado Mesa on Friday afternoon in Grand Junction, Colo. The Roadrunners moved to 8-6-1 overall and 5-5-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while CMU is now 8-4-3 and 6-3-2.
The game was nearly dead even statistically, with the shot attempts being 14 for each team and MSU holding a 5-4 advantage on shots on goal.
Goalkeeper Issa Bissau (Denver, Colo./Chatfield H.S.) made four saves for his first solo shutout of the season in his second start of the year.
Kevin Pocalyko (Longmont, Colo./Longmont H.S.) had a scoring chance for the Roadrunners with less than two minutes left in regulation, putting a shot on goal.
Bissau made a save early in the first overtime period and Andrew Mejia (Littleton, Colo./Mullen H.S.) had the game's final scoring chance with three minutes left in the second overtime.
It was the first scoreless tie for the Roadrunners since 2010.
MSU will play at Adams State on Sunday.
