Box Score PUEBLO, Colo. - Metro State was shut out 3-0 on Friday evening at Colorado State-Pueblo. The loss dropped the Roadrunners to 7-5-0 overall and 4-4-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while the ThunderWolves improved to 4-6-1 and 2-4-1.
Jonny Sawyer scored with less than five minutes left in the first half and then scored again 16 minutes into the second half for a 2-0 lead. Mountan Mitchell added an insurance goal with just over three minutes left.
Patrick Markis earned the shutout for CSUP with eight saves.
Shailer Thomas (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington H.S.) stopped eight for MSU.
Metro State held a 17-16 shot advantage in the game.
The Roadrunners will play at No. 3 Regis at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
