Box Score FAYETTE, Iowa - Metro State's men's soccer team scored two second half goals to pull away for a 3-0 victory over University of Mary (N.D.) on Sunday in Fayette, Iowa. The Roadrunners improved to 2-0 on the season with their second straight shutout, while UM fell to 0-2.

Andy Lopez (Phoenix/La Joya H.S.) headed in a corner kick from Dustin Berg (Castle Rock, Colo./Douglas County H.S.) after Berg's service was deflected by Jeremy Brooks (Phoenix/Horizon H.S.) for a 1-0 lead just over 30 minutes into the game.

Marc Herschberger (Westminster, Colo./Northglenn H.S.) struck a shot from 26 yards out for a 2-0 lead at 65:14.

Brenden Hughes (Fort Collins, Colo./Fossil Ridge H.S.) scored the final goal off Andrew Mejia (Littleton, Colo./Mullen H.S.)'s free kick 11 minutes later.

Goalkeeper Shailer Thomas (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington H.S.) made four saves to earn the shutout victory.

The Roadrunners outshot UM 14-8 in the game, led by four attempts from freshman Arek Raclawski (Lakewood, Colo./Bear Creek H.S.).

MSU will open its home season on Friday for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff against Texas A&M-International.
