Box Score DENVER - Metro State edged Adams State 1-0 on Sunday at home in a defensive battle at Auraria Field. The Roadrunners improved to 7-2-3 overall and 5-1-2 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while ASU fell to 6-5-0 and 4-4-0.
It was the third 1-0 victory for the Roadrunners this season.
Andy Lopez (Phoenix/La Joya H.S.) scored the only goal in the game at 37:58, controlling a pass from
Carlos Mendez (Denver, Colo./Broomfield H.S.) and shooting from inside the box.
MSU Denver dominated the game defensively, allowing just four total shot attempts, including one on goal.
Keegan Hand (Loveland, Colo./Thompson Valley H.S.) made the lone save to earn the shutout in goal.
The Roadrunners had 23 shot attempts, but only two on goal.
Metro State will play at UC-Colorado Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
