Notes:
•    Brenden Hughes (Fort Collins, Colo./Fossil Ridge H.S.) scored 34 seconds into the game at Regis on Sept. 22, the second-fastest goal to start a game in school history (Scott Grode at 0:29 vs. Northeastern State in 2009).

•    The five goals scored in Metro State's 5-2 win at Regis on Sept. 22 were the most ever scored by the Roadrunners on the road at Regis.

•    Danny Arrubla (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton H.S.) scored his first goal of the season on Sept. 22, ending the longest scoring drought (six games dating back to last season) of his career.

•    The 0-0 tie with UC-Colorado Springs on Sept. 20 was the first scoreless tie since 2010 (Colorado Mines).

•    Newcomer Keegan Hand (Loveland, Colo./Thompson Valley H.S.) was named RMAC defensive player of the week on Sept. 17 after playing 114:22 scoreless minutes in goal, making five saves.

•    Hand joined the team on Sept. 12, played off the bench on Sept. 13 and started on Sept. 15, recording a solo shutout against Newman (Kan.).

•    The five goals allowed in the 5-2 loss to St. Edward's on Sept. 13 were the most allowed since 2007.

•    MSU Denver went 3-0 in exhibitions, winning 2-0 over Laramie County C.C., 1-0 over Northwestern (Iowa) and 5-0 in its annual alumni game.

•    The win in the alumni game snapped a two-year losing streak in that series.

•    Brenden Hughes (Fort Collins, Colo./Fossil Ridge H.S.) led the Roadrunners with three preseason goals and Jack Mayfield (Boulder, Colo./Fairview H.S.), Andy Lopez (Phoenix/La Joya H.S.), Kevin Pocalyko (Longmont, Colo./Longmont H.S.) and Makir Oropeza (Denver, Colo./C.E.C. Middle College) each had one.

•    Jeff Gillis (Aurora, Colo./Smoky Hill H.S.) had two preseason assists and Mayfield, Clyde Glastetter (Louisville, Colo./Monarch H.S.), Pierce Galan (Phoenix/Seton Catholic H.S.) and Tyler Gillaspie (Gilbert, Ariz./Gilbert H.S.) each had one.

•    Freshman James Tanner (Lake Stevens, Wash./Lake Stevens H.S.) played every minute during the preseason in goal, posting a 0.00 GAA and making 13 saves.
