DENVER - Metropolitan State University of Denver lost 2-1 to University of Colorado Colorado Springs on Friday night at The Regency Athletic Complex at MSU Denver after allowing a pair of first-half goals. The loss dropped the Roadrunners to 9-3-0 overall and 6-3-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
Austin Bell scored for UCCS at 20:09 off a set piece and James Roberts scored 15 minutes later on a shot from the top of the box to push the Mountain Lions' lead to 2-0.
The Roadrunners got on the board at 71:27 when
Danny Arrubla (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton H.S.) scored from 15 yards out on a pass from
Nolan Barth (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton H.S.).
The comeback came up just short as MSU Denver outshot UCCS 15-to-11.
James Tanner (Lake Stevens, Wash./Lake Stevens H.S.) made three saves.
The Roadrunners will play at Colorado School of Mines at 12 p.m. on Sunday.
