DENVER - Luke Lawrence scored 1:38 into overtime to lift Fort Lewis to a 2-1 victory over Metropolitan State University of Denver on Sunday afternoon at The Regency Athletic Complex at MSU Denver. The Roadrunners dropped to 10-5-0 overall and 7-5-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while FLC improved to 9-7-0 and 7-5-0.
Jeff Gillis (Aurora, Colo./Smoky Hill H.S.) scored in the 22nd minute for the Roadrunners for the early lead.
Justin Glivar (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sand Creek H.S.) played a long cross from the right sideline to the far post to
Danny Arrubla (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton H.S.), who headed the ball back to the near post to Gillis who headed it into the net.
The Skyhawks tied the game in the 38th minute on a one-touch shot by Yannis Becker on a cross from Maik Brandt.
Lawrence provided the winner after a receiving a long pass from Elliot Prost in the box.
James Tanner (Lake Stevens, Wash./Lake Stevens H.S.) stopped eight shots for the Roadrunners.
