MANKATO, Minn. - Metropolitan State University of Denver fell 84-62 at Minnesota State on Sunday afternoon in Mankato, Minnesota. The Roadrunners dropped to 1-1 overall, while the Mavericks improved to 2-0.
Freshman
Georgia Ohrdorf (Wollongong, Australia/St. Mary Star of the Sea College) was on fire, hitting 9-of-11 field goals for 19 points.
Deni Jacobs (Plains, Kan./Southwestern Heights H.S.) scored 15 points and made all seven of her free throw attempts.
Jenae Paine (Oregon City, Ore./Oregon City H.S.) buried 3-of-5 from long range and had 13 points and seven rebounds, while freshman
Emily Hartegan (Frisco, Texas/Wylie East H.S.) provided 10 points off the bench.
The Roadrunners shot 46 percent in the game, but MSU forced 23 turnovers against the Roadrunners.
MSU Denver closed the first half on a 22-8 run to cut its deficit to 39-35 at halftime. Paine and Jacobs led all scorers with 13 points each.
The Mavericks outscored MSU Denver 24-10 over the first nine minutes of the second half to build an 18-point lead.
MSU Denver will be in action next on Nov. 28 against Texas A&M-International in Colorado Springs.
