DENVER - No. 3 Metropolitan State University of Denver earned a 76-68 win over Langston University (Okla.) on Saturday night at the Auraria Event Center. The Roadrunners improved to 4-0 overall, while LU fell to 2-2.

Nicholas Kay (Tamworth, Australia/Newington College) had a game-high 19 points, hitting 7-of-9 from the free throw line. Freshman
Bounama Keita (Saint-Louis, Senegal/Impact Basketball Academy (Fla.)) poured in 17 points, making 8-of-10 from the floor and grabbing six rebounds off the bench.
Mitch McCarron (Brisbane, Australia/Genesis Christian College) had 15 points, six assists and five rebounds, shooting 6-of-7 from the floor.

MSU Denver outrebounded Langston 34-to-27 and shot 56 percent in the game.

MSU Denver went on a 15-2 run midway through the first half to lead by 13 points. A late push by the Lions cut the halftime lead to 35-30 behind 11 points from Kay.

The Roadrunners opened a 12-point lead early in the second half, but the Lions fought back to get within five points with 6:38 remaining. MSU Denver quickly built its lead back to 11 points with under three minutes to go.

Curtis Jones led Langston with 19 points.

The Roadrunners will play against Armstrong State (Ga.) in Lakeland, Florida, on Friday.
