DENVER - Metropolitan State University of Denver fell 88-82 to Southern Oregon on Saturday at the Auraria Event Center. The Roadrunners fell to 1-1 on the season, while the game was an exhibition for SOU.

Deni Jacobs (Plains, Kan./Southwestern Heights H.S.) scored a career-high 28 points on 11-of-15 shooting, making 6-of-7 at the line. She also had five rebounds, three assists and two blocks.
Emily Hartegan (Frisco, Texas/Wylie East H.S.) scored 14 points and had seven rebounds.
Jenae Paine (Oregon City, Ore./Oregon City H.S.) buried 4-of-4 3-point shots to score 12 points off the bench.
Georgia Ohrdorf (Wollongong, Australia/St. Mary Star of the Sea College) had eight points and seven rebounds.

MSU Denver shot 47 percent in the game and 58.3 percent from 3-point range, but SOU outrebounded the Roadrunners 47-to-35 and forced 18 turnoers.

The Roadrunners overcame a 10-point deficit midway through the first half to trail just 40-39 at the break after shooting 48.5 percent.

SOU built an eight-point lead with three minutes left in the game. A 3-pointer by Paine cut the deficit to 78-74 with 2:23 left. The Roadrunners were unable to get their deficit under four points the rest of the way.
