GOLDEN, Colo. - No. 13 Metropolitan State University of Denver fell 6-5 on penalty kicks to No. 9 Colorado School of Mines on Sunday in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championship game in Golden, Colo. MSU Denver is now 14-1-5 overall, while CSM is 15-1-4. The Orediggers earn an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. The Roadrunners also expect to earn a bid and will find out their first-round opponent on Monday at 5 p.m. here:

With the penalty kick score tied 5-5, Mines goalkeeper Jalyn Yates made a save against
Taylor Campbell (Sandia Park, N.M./Sandia Prep) before Kenzie King scored the winner in the eighth round.

The Roadrunners had several chances to score during the game, putting five shots on goal. They outshot Mines 17-to-9.
