DENVER - Metropolitan State University of Denver wins their conference opener with a 73-63 victory over Regis University Saturday night at the Auraria Event Center in Denver. The Roadrunners improve to 4-1 on the season, 1-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while the Rangers dropped to 4-1 (0-1 RMAC) with their first loss of the season.

Georgia Ohrdorf (Wollongong, Australia/St. Mary Star of the Sea College) led all scorers with 21 points and included 10 rebounds with five assists. She was 10-for-14 from the field. Â
Deni Jacobs (Plains, Kan./Southwestern Heights H.S.) tallied 13 points to go along with eight rebounds and was 5-for- 6 from the free throw line.
Jenae Paine (Oregon City, Ore./Oregon City H.S.) scored 11 points and was 3-for-3 from 3-point range.
Erin McClarie (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Rock Canyon H.S.) scored seven points and tallied three assists and three steals.  Â

Ohrdorf led the Roadrunners with 10 points in the first half. MSU Denver held Regis to 25 percent from the field, while MSU Denver was 57 percent from the field to take a 37-21 lead at the half.

The Roadrunners jumped out to a 42-27 lead early in the second half. Regis cut the lead to 68-60 with two minutes to go in the game but that was all the Rangers could cut into the deficit. The Roadrunners led the entire game. Â
Bay'lee Purdy led Regis with 19 points and six assists.
