DALLAS - Metro State's men's tennis team won 9-0 on Thursday at Dallas Baptist, while the women's team fell 8-1 at DBU. The men improved to 3-1 this season and the women fell to 1-5.
All six men's singles players won in straight sets, while
Adrien Delvaux (Flower Mound, Texas/Flower Mound H.S.) and
Josh Graetz (Albury, Australia/The Scots School) earned an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles,
Nick Baker (Lee's Summit, Mo./Lee's Summit West H.S.) and
Trevor Jones (Vancouver, Wash./Mountain View H.S.) won 8-0 at No. 2 and
John Qualls (Henderson, Nev./Foothill H.S.) and
Andrew Haralson (Wichita, Kan./Wichita Northwest H.S.) topped DBU 8-1 at No. 3.
Wanda Holopainen (Lahti, Finland/Salpausselän H.S.) earned Metro State's only win on the women's side, winning 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2 singles.
Metro State will play at Midwestern State on Friday. MWSU's men's team is ranked No. 16 and its women are ranked No. 19.
