DENVER - Metropolitan State University of Denver earned its third straight win, topping Adams State 62-47 on Friday evening at the Auraria Event Center. The Roadrunners improved to 10-4 overall and 7-3 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while ASU dropped to 2-12 and 2-8.

The Roadrunners shot 41.8 percent in the game, while holding ASU to just 24.3 percent with a dominating defensive performance. The Roadrunners also outrebounded the Grizzlies 55-to-35.Jenae Paine (Oregon City, Ore./Oregon City H.S.) led all scorers with 13 points, shooting 5-of-8 from the floor and burying three 3-pointers.
Emily Hartegan (Frisco, Texas/Wylie East H.S.) had 11 points off the bench and
Deni Jacobs (Plains, Kan./Southwestern Heights H.S.) had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Hartegan also had six rebounds and three assists.
Brittany Curl (Absarokee, Mont./Absarokee H.S.) shot 4-of-8 and had nine points and eight rebounds.

MSU Denver limited the Grizzlies to just 32.1 percent shooting to lead 46-28 at halftime. Paine hit 4-of-6 from the floor to lead all scorers with 11 points at the break.

The Roadrunners led by as many as 20 points in the second half after holding the Grizzlies to just 19 percent shooting after halftime.
