GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Colorado Mesa knocked down 11 3-pointers to earn a 70-48 win over Metropolitan State University of Denver on Friday in Grand Junction, Colorado. The Roadrunners dropped to 10-6 overall and 7-5 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while CMU improved to 13-3 and 10-2 in the RMAC.
The Mavericks made 11-of-23 from the outside, led by Erin Reichle, who had 24 points and made 6-of-8 3-pointers.
Deni Jacobs (Plains, Kan./Southwestern Heights H.S.) led MSU Denver with 15 points and added seven rebounds.
Emily Hartegan (Frisco, Texas/Wylie East H.S.) provided 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds off the bench.
Georgia Ohrdorf (Wollongong, Australia/St. Mary Star of the Sea College) scored seven and
Hannah Stipanovich (St. Louis, Mo./Clayton H.S.) had six.
The Roadrunners had their roughest night shooting this season, making just 31 percent from the floor and 1-of-8 from 3-point range. They did outrebound CMU 42-to-39.
Reichle scored 21 points in the first half to lead CMU to a 36-24 lead at the break.
MSU Denver will play at Western State at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
