DENVER - Metropolitan State University of Denver had its three-game winning streak snapped on Saturday, falling 59-47 to Western New Mexico at the Auraria Event Center. The Roadrunners dropped to 7-4 overall and 4-3 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while the Mustangs improved to 5-6 and 3-5.

It was a cold shooting night for the Roadrunners as they made just 1-of-16 from 3-point range, one night after hitting seven from the outside.
Deni Jacobs (Plains, Kan./Southwestern Heights H.S.) led the team offensively with 15 points and had nine rebounds.
Georgia Ohrdorf (Wollongong, Australia/St. Mary Star of the Sea College) scored 11 and had nine rebounds.
Emily Hartegan (Frisco, Texas/Wylie East H.S.) had nine points off the bench, all in the first half.

The Roadrunners played excellent defense in the first half, holding WNMU to just 26.7 percent shooting. But MSU Denver committed 11 turnovers and trailed 26-22 at halftime, led by nine points from Hartegan.

MSU Denver cut the deficit to three points early in the second half, but an 8-0 Mustangs run put them in front 40-28 with 12:15 remaining. The Roadrunners never cut closer than six points the rest of the way.

Stephanie Moore had 20 points and nine rebounds to lead Western New Mexico.

The Roadrunners will head to Colorado Christian for a 6 p.m. game on Friday in Lakewood, Colorado.
