Michaela Smith (Littleton, Colo./Regis Jesuit H.S.) was named RMAC offensive player of the week on Oct. 12 after averaging 4.62 kills in road wins at No. 17 Colorado Mines and Colorado Christian.

Brandi Torr (Albuquerque, N.M./La Cueva H.S.) was named RMAC setter of the week on Oct. 5 after averaging 12.60 assists and 2.80 digs, helping the team hit .310 during a 3-0 week vs. Regis, South Dakota Mines and Black Hills State.

Ryan Hoerdemann (Littleton, Colo./Arapahoe H.S.) earned RMAC offensive player of the week on Oct. 5 after averaging 3.40 kills and hitting .491 in three wins.
•   The Roadrunners are picked second in the RMAC behind Colorado School of Mines.

Brandi Torr (Albuquerque, N.M./La Cueva H.S.) was named preseason all-RMAC.

Michaela Smith (Littleton, Colo./Regis Jesuit H.S.) was fifth among players in the Colorado Premier Challenge in kills per set at 3.69.

Vasati Fiatoa (Las Vegas, Nev./Bonanza H.S.) was second at the Colorado Premier Challenge with a .354 hitting percentage and fifth with 1.23 blocks per set.
•   This was just the third time under
Debbie Hendricks that the Roadrunners have started a season with a 1-3 record (2006 - finished 21-10, 14-5 RMAC and won RMAC Tournament to reach NCAA Tournament; 2007 - finished 16-15, 13-6 RMAC and reached NCAA Tournamnet).
•   Four of the team's losses have come to top-25 teams, including two top-10 opponents.
MSU Denver successful in preseason
tournaments:
•   MSU Denver is 70-55 (.560) in preseason tournaments since
Debbie Hendricks became head coach in 2000.
•   A 7-1 record is the best the Roadrunners have done in preseason tournaments, doing so twice (2009 and 2011).
•   MSU Denver has posted a 24-16 (.600) record in preseason tournaments over the past five seasons including 2015.
•   MSU Denver is 38-42 all-time at the Colorado Premier Challenge and has won the tournament once (2003).
•   The Roadrunners are 6-2 in season-openers over the past eight years.
