DENVER - Josh Belfrage (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Mountain Vista H.S.) scored twice and Metropolitan State University of Denver scored a pair of goals in the second half to win 3-1 at Regis University on Friday afternoon in Denver in non-conference action. Metro State improved to 9-3-1 overall, while Regis dropped to 4-7-0.
The Rangers got on the board first with a header by Eduardo Belmar in the 34th minute, despite Metro State outshooting the Rangers 14-3 in the first half.
Arturo Vega (Tucson, Ariz./Salpointe Catholic H.S.) was taken down on a push towards the goal in the 42nd minute and drew a penalty kick that Belfrage converted to tie the game.
Danny Arrubla (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton H.S.) gave the Roadrunners the lead in the 68th minute on a breakaway goal after a long pass over the Regis defense from
Jaydon Moreschini (Pueblo West, Colo./Pueblo West H.S.).

Hayden Rus (Gilbert, Ariz./Gilbert H.S.) stopped two shots to earn the win in goal. The Roadrunners outshot Regis 21-9 in the game.
Metro State will play at South Dakota Mines on Sunday.
