DENVER- The MSU Denver Volleyball team continued its winning streak beating Western New Mexico 3-0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-11). The Roadrunners are now 14-5, 9-2 RMAC while the Mustangs are 12-8, 6-3 RMAC.
The Roadrunners were down 11-8 starting the first set and scored 17 of the final 24 points. The Roadrunners and the Mustangs were neck and neck the Mustangs having 11 kills to the Roadrunners 14. Following her career night
Ryan Hoerdemann (Littleton, Colo./Arapahoe H.S.) had 12 kills with a hitting percentage of .550. Hoerdemann and
Summer Greager (Colorado Springs, Colo./Colorado Springs Christian H.S.) both had 12 kills along with
Michaela Smith (Littleton, Colo./Regis Jesuit H.S.) at 11.
The Roadrunners came to play in the next two sets where they had a .368 and a .367 hitting percentage to the Mustangs .059 and -.088. The Mustangs as a team had an overall hitting percentage of .041 to the Roadrunners .337.
Defensively, the Roadunners had nine blocks to the Mustangs one.
Ryan Hoerdemann (Littleton, Colo./Arapahoe H.S.) and
Stephanie Laraway (Lakewood, Colo./Lakewood H.S.) both total at four blocks.
The Roadrunners take to the road against Westminster on October 23 then followed by a match a Colorado Mesa on October 24.
