Women’s Soccer: Roadrunners Defeat Adams State 2-0

MSU Denver improves to 6-6-3 on the season

Alamosa, Colo. – The Metropolitan State University of Denver women's soccer team defeated Adams State 2-0 to improve to 6-6-3 overall and 3-2-3 in conference play.

The game was scoreless after the first half.  The Roadrunners struck quickly in the second half scoring in the 49th minute.  Sophomore Elise Boisnard (Denver, Colo./Wheat Ridge H.S.) scored her first goal of the season on a pass from McKinzie Rieber (Highlands Ranch, Colo./ThunderRidge H.S.) to take a 1-0 lead.  MSU Denver added another goal to make the lead 2-0 in the 75th minute on a penalty kick from senior Josalyn Martin (Fort Collins, Colo./Fort Collins H.S.).

MSU Denver shot six of its 11 shots on goal while Adams State managed only four of its ten shots on goal.  Sophomore goalie Breanna Flores (Gilbert, Ariz./Gilbert H.S.) stopped all four shots she faced.

The Roadrunners will return to action on Sunday, October 25.  MSU Denver will face Fort Lewis with kick-off set for 1 p.m. in Durango, Colo.
