Durango, CO - The Metropolitan State University of Denver women's soccer team tied with Fort Lewis 1-1 on Sunday afternoon. MSU Denver is now 6-6-4 overall and 3-2-4 in RMAC play while Fort Lewis has an overall record of 10-4-2 and 8-2-1.
Brooke Milliet of Fort Lewis scored the first goal of the game in the 52nd minute off of a rebound. The goal was Milliet's second goal of the season.
The Roadrunners quickly fired back, scoring the equalizer a mere six minutes later in the 58
th minute. The tying goal for MSU Denver was scored by senior
Josalyn Martin (Fort Collins, Colo./Fort Collins H.S.), her fourth goal of the season. Martin's goal was a result of her cleaning up on a shot from freshman
Elise Boisnard (Denver, Colo./Wheat Ridge H.S.). Boisnard earned an assist on the Martin goal.
The match remained even throughout, with Fort Lewis managing 18 shots and MSU Denver having 19 shots. The Roadrunners had ten shots on goal. MSU Denver's goalkeeper
Breanna Flores (Gilbert, Ariz./Gilbert H.S.) had four saves on the day.
The Roadrunners will play their next match on Friday, October 30, at 4:30 p.m. against the Cowgirls of New Mexico Highlands. The game will take place at The Regency Athletic Complex in Denver.
