Denver - The Metropolitan State University of Denver women's soccer team defeated New Mexico Highlands University Friday evening 3-1.
The Cowgirls struck first in the 34th minute of the game on shot from the top of the box by Mallory Bostic. From there, the Roadrunners scored three-straight goals. Senior
Noemy Polanco (Long Beach, Calif./Lakewood H.S.) scored her third goal of the season off of a pass by fellow senior
McKinzie Rieber (Highlands Ranch, Colo./ThunderRidge H.S.). The go-ahead goal came from freshman
Elise Boisnard (Denver, Colo./Wheat Ridge H.S.) in the 59th minute. Freshman
Bry Sanchez (Tucson, Ariz./Salpointe Catholic H.S.) scored her first goal of the season in the 65th minute of the game giving the Roadrunners a 3-1 lead over the Cowgirls.
The Roadrunners will face CSU-Pueblo on Sunday Nov. 1 at 12 noon at the Regency Athletic Complex. The women's soccer team will be recognizing the team's senior in a pregame ceremony.
