Denver - The Metropolitan State University of Denver volleyball team defeated Regis Friday night 3-1.  The Roadrunners move to 15-9 overall and 11-3 in the RMAC while the Rangers fall to 13-10 overall and 10-4 in RMAC play.
 
MSU Denver hit.324 for the match compared to the Rangers' .273.  Senior 
Summer Greager (Colorado Springs, Colo./Colorado Springs Christian H.S.) led the Roadrunners with 15 kills and junior 
Ryan Hoerdemann (Littleton, Colo./Arapahoe H.S.) chipped in with 11 kills.
 
The Roadrunners went up early in the first set 14-7, led by junior 
Michaela Smith (Littleton, Colo./Regis Jesuit H.S.)'s five kills.  The Roadrunners hit .364 in the set while holding the Rangers to .143.  The Roadrunners were active defensively with four team blocks to the Rangers one.
 
MSU Denver had a slow start in the second set letting the Rangers take an early 5-1 lead.  MSU Denver's hitting percentage fell to .143.  The Rangers took the set 25-17.
 
The Roadrunners and the Rangers had a battle in the third set keeping the score tight for the duration.  MSU Denver hit .243 while holding Regis to .132.  The Roadrunners won the set 25-23.
 
Regis took an early fourth set lead 7-3 before MSU Denver came back 15-11. The Roadrunners eventually went on to win the set 25-16.  The Rangers had their worst hitting percentage of the match at .094 while the Roadrunners hit .300.
 
The Roadrunners will be back in action on Saturday Oct. 31 at 4 p.m. against Chadron State.
