Denver – The Metropolitan State University of Denver volleyball team defeated Colorado Christian 3-0 on Wednesday night in a non-conference match to improve to 19-9 overall. Colorado Christian drops to 11-15 on the season.

Michaela Smith (Littleton, Colo./Regis Jesuit H.S.) led the Roadrunners with 14 kills for the night. Senior
Summer Greager (Colorado Springs, Colo./Colorado Springs Christian H.S.) and junior
Ryan Hoerdemann (Littleton, Colo./Arapahoe H.S.) each posted eight.
Brandi Torr (Albuquerque, N.M./La Cueva H.S.) had four service aces on the night and 36 assists.
The Roadrunners dominated the first set, winning 25-15. MSU Denver hit .387 in the first set and committed only two errors. Colorado Christian was held to .118 hitting percentage. In the second set, MSU Denver continued its successful attack hitting .394 and picking up the victory in the set 25-21. MSU Denver was forced to come from behind in the third set after falling behind 10-7. The Roadrunners battled back and went on a 10-1 run to take a 17-11 lead. MSU Denver won the set 25-18.
MSU Denver will finish the regular season at UCCS on Saturday, Nov. 14 in Colorado Springs, Colo. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
