Colorado Springs, Colo. – The Metropolitan State University of Denver women's basketball team was defeated 75-53 on Friday night by Northern State. The Roadrunners drop to 0-3 on the season with the loss.
The Roadrunners were led in scoring by sophomore
Georgia Ohrdorf (Wollongong, Australia/St. Mary Star of the Sea College) with 12 poitns. Sophomore
Emily Hartegan (Wylie, Texas/Wylie East H.S.) added 10 points and led the team grabbing seven rebounds.
In the first quarter, the Roadrunners would fall behind early trailing Northern State 14-5 halfway through the first quarter. MSU Denver would cut the lead to five with just under two minutes to go in the period behind Ohrdorf's six points in the quarter. MSU Denver would trail 20-13 at the end of the first quarter. MSU Denver fell behind by as many as 14 in the second quarter and the Roadrunners would trail at the half 37-25. The third quarter saw the Roadrunners get outscored 18-10 by Northern State and trail 55-35. MSU Denver would score a game-high 18 points in the fourth quarter.
MSU Denver would shoot 20-of-54 from the field for 37.0 percent on the night while Northern State would go 29-of-58 for 50.0 percent. The Roadrunners were outrebounded 42-29 in the game.
MSU Denver will face Cal State East Bay on Saturday, Nov. 21 in Colorado Springs, Colo. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
