Denver – The Metropolitan State University of Denver women's basketball team defeated Northern New Mexico in an exhibition game on Friday night 74-42.
The Roadrunners were led in scoring by
Georgia Ohrdorf (Wollongong, Australia/St. Mary Star of the Sea College) who had 12 points. Sophomores
J'Nae Squires-Horton (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sand Creek H.S.) and
Hannah Stipanovich (St. Louis, Mo./Clayton H.S.) scored 11 and 10 points, respectively. Sophomore
Emily Hartegan (Wylie, Texas/Wylie East H.S.) led the Roadrunners with nine rebounds.
MSU Denver outrebounded the Eagles 50 to 41 on the night. The Roadrunners grabbed 21 offensive rebounds while forcing 22 Northern New Mexico turnovers.
MSU Denver will return to action on Saturday night against Grand View. Game time is set for 7 p.m. at the Auraria Event Center.
