Denver - The Metropolitan State University of Denver women's basketball team defeated Grand View University 77-47 on Saturday night in an exhibition game.
Sophomore
Emily Hartegan (Wylie, Texas/Wylie East H.S.) led the Roadrunners in scoring. Hartegan put up 20 points and tied for the team lead in rebounds with seven. Sophomores
J'Nae Squires-Horton (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sand Creek H.S.) and
Hannah Stipanovich (St. Louis, Mo./Clayton H.S.) scored 14 and 13 points, respectively. Junior
Jenae Paine (Oregon City, Ore./Oregon City H.S.) was the only other Roadrunner in double-figures with 10 points. Sophomore
Kaleigh Graham (Farmington, N.M./Piedra Vista H.S.) grabbed seven rebounds on the evening.
The Roadrunners shot 52.6 percent for the game including 44.4 percent from three-point range. MSU Denver held Grand View to 29.3 percent shooting from the field.
MSU Denver will open the regular season against Texas A&M- Commerce on Friday, Nov. 13 at 5:30 p.m. in Pueblo, Colo.
