Gunnison, Colo. – The Metropolitan State University of Denver volleyball team defeated Western State 3-0 on Friday night to move to 16-9 overall and 12-3 in conference play.
Three Roadrunners racked up double-digit kills on the night. Junior
Michaela Smith (Littleton, Colo./Regis Jesuit H.S.) led the way with 12 kills while senior
Summer Greager (Colorado Springs, Colo./Colorado Springs Christian H.S.) and sophomore
Ryan Hoerdemann (Littleton, Colo./Arapahoe H.S.) each talled 10 kills on the night. Senior
Kylie Haun (Simpsonville, S.C./Hillcrest H.S.) had 14 digs and junior
Brandi Torr (Albuquerque, N.M./La Cueva H.S.) posted 31 assists in the match.
MSU Denver dominated the match winning 25-14, 25-20, and 25-21. The Roadrunners outhit Western State .255 to .120 on the evening. MSU Denver has now won four consecutive matches and 14 out of its last 15 matches.
The Roadrunners will travel to Pueblo, Colo. To play CSU-Pueblo on Saturday. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
