GREELEY, Colo. - Metropolitan State University of Denver's men's and women's tennis teams both played their first match of the spring on Saturday at Northern Colorado. The men fell 4-3 to the Bears, while the women were taken down 7-0.
For the men, No. 1 doubles pair
Josh Graetz (Albury, Australia/The Scots School) and
Nick Baker (Lee's Summit, Mo./Lee's Summit West H.S.) earned a 6-2 win and No. 2 doubles pair
John Qualls (Henderson, Nev./Foothill H.S.) and
Calum Hayes (Leeds, England/Guiseley H.S.) won 6-3. Qualls won 6-3, 7-5 at No. 4 singles and
Trevor Jones (Vancouver, Wash./Mountain View H.S.) won 6-4, 4-6, 11-9 at No. 6.
Both teams will be back in action on Feb. 14.
