PUEBLO, Colo. - Metropolitan State University of Denver dropped a doubleheader at Colorado State-Pueblo on Saturday, falling 6-5 and 12-1. The Roadrunners fell to 9-11 overall and 4-7 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, while CSUP improved to 20-3 and 12-1.
The ThunderWolves scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh of Game 1 to win on a walk-off single Tyler Landrith.
Mike Thill (Littleton, Colo./Columbine H.S.) pitched five strong inning for MSU Denver, striking out seven and allowing three runs.
Mitch Gibbons (Franktown, Colo./Ponderosa H.S.),
Trent Maloney (Castle Rock, Colo./Douglas County H.S.),
Andrew Paust (Parker, Colo./Ponderosa H.S.) and
Hunter Donaldson (Fort Collins, Colo./Fossil Ridge H.S.) each had two hits for the Roadrunners. Donaldson also had a two-run single in the first inning.
The Roadrunners were limited to three hits in Game 2.
The two teams will play one game at noon on Sunday.
